Belleek Pottery has recently launched a new range of crystal under its contemporary Belleek Living brand. The Fermanagh-based company has invested over €2.25m developing the range, which will be focused heavily on the wedding gift market. “Belleek Living Crystal will enable us to further penetrate the very important wedding gift market which in Ireland and the UK is estimated to be worth over €450m annually,” said John Maguire, group managing director of Belleek Pottery.
“Four years ago, Belleek’s share of the wedding gift market was very low – today, Belleek Living is one of the top brands on wedding gift lists in Northern Ireland. With the introduction of Belleek Living Crystal, we aim to grow our business by over €3m over the next two years.”
Traditionally, Belleek has been associated with china but diversified into more contemporary products in the past number of years.
“We realised three or four years ago that the traditional side of the business was going to remain difficult and possibly was going to continue to contract, so we needed to do something very new and contemporary,” said Mr Maguire.
Launched in 2003, Belleek Living saw sales growth of 50pc to €8m over the past year in the Ireland.
Belleek also owns Galway Crystal, Aynsley China and Donegal Parian China.
